It Will Be Newcomers HS vs. John Adams HS

Spectacular all-round performances by Robin Das (Newcomers HS) and Randy Nurse (John Adams HS) as they led their respective teams into the 2009 PSAL Championship match with victories in their semi-final matches Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at Baisley Park, Queens, N.Y.

Robin Das scored 36 runs and captured 4 wickets for 14 runs which enabled Newcomers HS to route the Cinderella team of the 2009 PSAL Playoffs, Aviation HS, by 112 runs. While Randy Nurse made 14 not out, made four dismissals behind the stumps (2 catches and 2 stumping) and took 1 wicket when he clean bowled the top scorer for Bryant HS, Guneet Cheema, late in the game for 32 runs -- John Adams HS edged Bryant HS by 3 runs.

The stage is now set for the second PSAL Championship match. With twenty-three (23) High Schools participating in 2009 and over 250 matches completed it has come down to two schools and one match. It will be a repeat of the inaugural championship match in 2008 – Newcomers High School versus John Adams High School - Sunday, June 14, at the Brand New Cricket Field at Seaview Park, 80th Street and Seaview Ave., Brooklyn, N.Y. Game time is 1:00.P.M.
