With some amazing stroke play his blitz included 16 fours and 1 six. The opening partnership stood for 30 overs with 154 runs between Asgarally and his nephew Azurdeen Mohammed a current USA under 19 cricketer. With a brilliant start to Meten Meer Zorg innings by the skipper and Asgarally the team finished 40 overs with a score of 238 for the fall of 8 wickets. Rawle Hoyte scored an entertaining 38 which include 3 sixes and 2 fours. PSAL star Raunal Islam added an eye pleasing 20. On the defensive end Meten Meer Zorg Raunal Islam took 2 quick wickets in the first over. Azurdeen Mohammed took 2 for 20 Samuiel Gandhi took 4 for 26 and Abdullah Syed took 2 for 19. Anil Jairam had a knock of 47 but Enmore was bolwed out for 123. Former Guyana youth player Bactowar took 4 for 26 being the only bolwer who showed a little bit of persistence against Asgarallys assault. Meten Meer Zorg Cricket Club is now on a 2 game winning streak after losing their first 2 games. MMZ is a team of young cricketers along with players such as Asgarally and Rawle Hoyte to channel them with their experience. Newly added member Abdullah Syed will fortify an impressive line up and a title fight will be in these youngsters’ minds. Azurdeen Mohammed said “we have a great young team with myself, Zaaid Majeed and Abdullah Syed we’re definitely a team to compete for a championship”. With support all around at every game Meten Meer Zorg will look to keep the winning streak going, facing up against Trini boys on Sunday at Foch Blvd.
