Triumph: Boodram Blast 107 not out
By James Persaud
Oct. 9th, 2008
Triumph continues their winning way for the second consecutive week
in a row sending Sheffield to their third loss in as many games. Sheffield
batted first and put up a total of 153 all out, a very reasonable
score for a 20/20 game. When the Triumph batsmen took the crease they
find themselves in early trouble losing two quick wickets. The early
success for the bowlers was short lived, as Boodram the Triumph hard
hitting all-rounder batting at number three soon took charge and single
handily guided his team to victory with four overs to spare.

Boodram slammed
a master innings of 107 runs not out in 11 overs, including (8 x 4)
and (6 x 6), Ganesh and Roddy contributed 12 and 11 respectively for
the victory. The Sheffield skipper used six bowlers in trying to stop
the free scoring Boodram as the game slipped away. Sheffield needed
a win by all means to keep their hope alive in the competition. Earlier
in the day Sheffield skipper won the toss and took first strike at
the crease with their leading runs getter Caesar striking a top score
of 74 not out before he ran out of overs.

Enterprise Demolish Country Boys
By Larry Mohabir
Oct. 8th, 2008
Country Boys was no match for Enterprise although they played with
a depleted squad. After being asked to bat first, Enterprise wasted
no time in piling up runs in a hurry, with M. Sukhra (52) and D. Pooran
(13) putting on a partnership of 75. At halftime, the score was 107
for 4.
M. Singh continued
the onslaught after the departure of Sukhra, and together with J.
Mohabir they pushed for a huge total. When Mohabir (25) fell the score
was 174 for 5 at the end of the 17th over. S. Seepersaud (13) then
joined Singh (60 n.o.) and together they saw the total pass the 200
runs mark.
Enterprise's inal
score was 204 for 8. Bowling for Country Boys D. Edwards 3 for 30,
G.Towler 2 for 35, and G. Dow 2 for 22 were the wicket-takers.
In reply, Country Boys was going nowhere fast, they appeared stalled
in maybe 30 -over smode, with some good bowling frm V. Samaroo (4-1-6-2)
and S. Ramsumer (4-11-0.) pinned them back. After ten overs, the score
was 32 for 2. A little resistance by T. Fernandez (35 n.o) and D.
Edwards (12), with D. Green (14 n.o.), they kept Enterprise from wrapping
up the innings early. R. Barron 1 for 17 and S. Budhram 1 for 20,
kept pounding away.
Eventually Country
boys could only muster 97 before running out of overs. Enterprise's
next match is against Untouchables who was beaten by U. Star last
Sunday.
