Massiah Leads United Sports Club To Nassau League Super-4 Title

USA national captain, Steve Massiah, led his team United Sports Club to victory over West Indian Alliance in Nassau League Super-4 Final Sunday, August 23, 2009 at Baisley Pond Park, New York.

Batting under very difficult conditions because of over night rain, Massiah demonstrated great leadership qualities and carved out an even 50 in is team’s total of 200 runs.

Run support for United Sports Club was provided by Dave Mohamed - 47, Vishal Nagamootoo – 32 and H. Hardeo – 28.

Under the conditions, 200 runs was a very challenging total for West Indian Alliance as they were bundled out for 111 runs in 33.4 overs.

United Sports Club won their second Super-4 Title in the leagues thirteen years of existence.

Under the guidance and leadership of the Steve Massiah, United Sports Club went undefeated in 2009 in the Nassau Cricket League regular season competition and play-offs with a record of 15-0.
