Star Too Good For Victory CC
Carpet Doctor Cricket team has changed their name to Rising Star Cricket
Club for the 2008 cricket season. The team is now under the management
of Mr. Gayle who is the uncle of current West Indies captain Chris
Gayle. P. Dyanand was elected to lead the team and includes Roger
Williams, S. Smith, L. Garvey, R. Wilmot and former USA all-rounder
Rudy Naraine.

In their first
game at Flushing Park against Victory Cricket Team, Rising Star was
victorious. Rising Star accumulated a total of 259 for nine off forty
overs. Skipper P. Dyanand led the way with a brilliant 66 while Roger
Williams and Ramdat chipped in with 49 and 43 respectively.
Bowling for Victory, A. Jasdeep got five wickets, A. Anil two wickets
and Haleen 1 wicket.
In reply Victory Cricket team could only mustered 133.
Rudy Naraine was the main destroyer claiming six wickets for 21 runs,
while Ramdat took 3 wickets and Roger Williams one.
Rising
Star Against West Demerara Cricket Club
Rising Star choosing to bat first was bundled out for 138. Rudy Naraine
had a knock of 24, Roger Williams 20 and S. Smith 15.
Insaf took three wickets while Osmand and Deryck picked up two apiece.
West Demerara in reply knocked of the total while loosing eight wickets.
Bowling for Rising Star, Rudy Naraine was in the limelight again taking
3 for 21, while Roger Williams and Morand had 1 each.
