Clarke Road United (CRU) in their first match on Thursday registered a convincing victory against Cosmos XI at Gateway. Clarke Road United 305 for 4 in 40 overs (Sean Siloch 150 n.o), Cosmos in reply were 90 without loss at the water interval only to be bundled out for136 all out. Then on Friday, CRU breezed an easy win against Pakistan at Floyd Bennett. Pakistan 99 all out, Clarke Road United 99 for one. A full weekend of activities and an Atlantic City trip on Monday gave the boys a taste of some of the excitement that New York has to offer.

With two convincing victories under their belt, CRU had announced themselves as a formidable team and that hinted Rockaway to show-up 'fully' loaded with a strong combined team or two at Baisley for their Tuesday match-up. They gave Clarke Road their first defeat on tour. Rockaway 190 for 8. S. Dhaniram 60. CRU 156 all out.

Then it was Cosmos XI on Thursday in what proved to be the match of the tour. A spanking looking Idlewyle outfield under brilliant sunshine gave way to bat, brains, and two seasoned campaigner in Mahadeo Bodoe and Dixeth Palmer on opposite sides of the toss. Apart from a few unsuccessful appeals and a few 'sips of refreshing drinks' from the third umpires - Doc and Popie, the crowds were entertained with cricket of a high class from two highly competitive teams. CRU 229 for 5 off 40 overs (M. Moonesar 87). Cosmos 230 for 7. With the record on 2-2, CRU needed to lift their game a notch higher against hometown rivals Trinidad and responded with 280 for 4 in 40 overs (G. Mohabir 101). Trinidad in reply could only managed 170 all out.

Cosmos members were on hand lead by their president Sham Ali, manager Shadi Khan, coach Ashmul Ali, and Dixeth Palmer to conclude the tour with a presentation ceremony. Cosmos paid special tribute to Mukesh Prasad and Mahadeo Bodoe for their longstanding service to the game and also recognized the entire CRU team for the sportsmanship displayed throughout. The twenty-five man touring squad were received by hosts Cosmos and entertained by many willing and reliable individuals and teams for the duration of their tour. Cosmos wished to express their appreciation and thanks to S.A. Sports- Mr. Hussain Rana the Pakistan team. Rockaway Roti shop- Mr. Hafeez Ali, Singh's, Shipwreck and the Trinidad group- Harold, Joules, David, Paul Deo and his team-Trinidad for their contributions in making Clarke Road United tour a resounding success.

Clark Road United brought with them a solid management team led by manager Mr. Baldath Mahabir and coach Dasrath Maraj coupled with a level of cohesiveness, discipline and competitive spirit that is foreign to New York teams. CRU put on display a standard of cricket that was admired by all of their opponents and spectators alike. Cosmos expressed their continued efforts to build bridges across the seas and recognized the First Citizens Clarke Road United team for their friendship and camaraderie as they have exemplified themselves as true ambassadors of cricket.
