Set For Memorial Day Weekend
April 16th, 2010
The Second Annual MAQ T20 New England Cricket Tournament will be played on May 29-31, just a few miles from Boston’s famous Fenway Park. The best cricket players in the very competitive North East Region will compete for the Championship Trophy and an invitation for the regional team to participate in the 2010 U.S. Cricket Open. Cricket Council USA, a sports and entertainment management company, and the Tournament Title Sponsor, T20 Energy Drink, have set the stage for a thrilling Memorial Day Weekend of first class cricket.
The Defending Champions from the Southern Connecticut Cricket League will compete against talent-heavy teams from the historic Massachusetts State Cricket League, the Connecticut Cricket League and the North East Regional Youth Team.
The winning team will take home the fabulous Championship Trophy and a $5,000.00 prize check. The runner-up will be awarded a $2,000.00 prize check.
On Friday evening, May 28th, Cricket Council USA and T20 Energy Drink will honor the competing teams and attending dignitaries at the Golden Circle Welcome Reception. The North East Region has established itself as one of the major regional participants for the 2010 U. S. Cricket Open, being hosted by Cricket Council USA from December 3 – 5, 2010 at Central Broward Regional Park, Lauderhill, Florida.
Just like the “OPEN” format in major U.S. Golf and Tennis Opens, the U.S. Cricket Open Championship will have teams from around the region and world converging on South Florida to leave their mark in American sports history. The participating teams will have the names of its players, coaches and managers indelibly etched into the record books for competing in the historical U.S. Cricket Open Championship for a first prize of $25,000.00.
