Old Mac Tour of NYC Results By Orin
Davidson They were beaten by the New York Cricket Coaching School (NYCCS) by six wickets at Baisley Park Pond ground on Wednesday. Batting first Old Mack was restricted to a paltry 72 runs for nine wickets off their allotted 50 overs. Nicholas Kowlessar topscored with 16 as they struggled to overcome the home team bowlers led by Keon Lake who took two wickets for 12 runs and Francis Mendonca who bagged 1-5, to take the best bowler award. In reply NYCCS
rattled up 73-4 in only 13 overs. Basdeo Ramnarine led the flurry
of runs with a topscore of 36 which earned him the Man of the Match
award.. Mendonca contributed 13. And despite a solid bowling performance
by Devon Latchman who captured three of the four wickets to fall for
18 runs, Old Mack Exchange was not good enough. On Thursday they opposed Tri State Youths and on Friday played Cosmos. The matches are scheduled for Idlewild Park and Gateway Park respectively. An encounter versus a Ray Sundar XI on Saturday has been called off, but on Monday Trinidad Youths faces a strong PSAL side that will comprise a virtual All Star lineup from the recent inaugural schools competition, at Gateway. On Tuesday and Wednesday, the visitors take on Pakistan Youths and Connecticut Youths at the Gateway and in Hartford Connecticut respectively. The Trinidadians
will round off their tour with games against EACA Youths and NYCCS,
both at Baisley Park Pond. |
