Negotiations Completed For USA Guyana’s Tour By Orin
Davidson Chairman of Guyana Cricket Inc. which manages the team, Jack Bharrat stated that all plans are in place for the three-match series against the Guyana national team to mark the Caribbean Cup champions’ unprecedented sweep of the 50 overs and Twenty/20 titles this year. “Negotiations were successfully completed and Guyana Cricket Board President Chetram Singh is very enthused about hosting the U.S. team, “ Bharrat stated in a press release. Star players Steve Massiah and Lennox Cush will spearhead USA Guyana and there are reports that exciting junior player Gregory Sewdial is being drafted in. Sewdial won the Most Valuable Player award representing New York in the recent national Under-19 championship in Florida. USA Guyana will
oppose Guyana in two 40 overs games on November 30 and December 4
at the GCC ground and Albion Sports Complex respectively, and in between
they will clash in a Twenty20 showdown at the new Providence Stadium
on December 1. In Guyana, it is slated for the Starlight Drive –In Montrose, East Coast Demerara on December 2. Co hosts include Dave Narine of Dave WI Imports and Danny Doobay of the Guyana Consulate in Canada. The Guyana Inc.
