Cricket World Cup’s CEO Chris Dehring was last week named as the independent third party (ITP) in the ongoing efforts of the United States of America Cricket Association seeking to have the International Cricket Council lift the suspension imposed on the governing body of cricket in the United States. Star batsman Steve Massiah was retained as captain in a release put out by the Regional selectors, which according to one source close to the panel, was not the choice agreed on by the five officials. (More) New York Cricket Region Inter-League Round Three Eastern American KO’s Nassau The Eastern American Cricket Association in an upset victory over the Nassau New York Cricket Association last Saturday, knocked the Steve Massiah led league out of the 2007 New York Cricket Region’s Inter-League tournament, despite both leagues enjoying 2-1 records. The dramatic third-round 45-Overs match played at Idlewild Park saw the Lennox Cush led league advance to the finals against the American League. The selectors met two days ago and selected a squad of 14 players to represent the New York region in the national tournament which kicks off with the Eastern Conference fixtures next weekend in New Jersey.
